Jordan finishes 3rd at State Tournament
Track and Field season has ended, and some of some of Swainsboro’s most talented runners and jumpers have competed for the last time at SHS and will be moving on to the next level. “Aniya Moore, Deidra Jordan, Ronald Lucas and Demequez Badie have all agreed to run track in college and they will do wellâ€, stated Coach Barry Young.
In Jefferson, Georgia the young men had to endure obstacles and heat to finish the season at the state tournament. “Our goal was to make the finals in each event and we did, I am very proud of them; especially our seniorsâ€, stated Coach Young.
In Albany, Georgia the Lady Tigers had to endure extreme heat as they competed with the best in the state. “Jordan and Moore have made it to state for four years.†Jordan finished 3rd in the high jump, only losing the state high jump title because of a three-way tie and number of attempts and misses. “We took a very young team to state competition and they got to see and experience large crowds, the intense heat, and saw what they needed to do to come back next year.â€
Good luck to our senior members!
