Jordan Signs Full Track & Field Scholarship

Swainsboro High School senior Deidra Jordan has accepted a full scholarship to attend Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida.  Coach Donald Cooper, a former SHS standout athlete, was well aware of Deidra’s’ athletic and academic abilities and as the new head coach of a very establish program in Daytona immediately came recruiting in his former hometown area.  He won’t be disappointed in his new recruit.  Deidra has been a winner in all of her events since joining the Lady Tigers track and field program.  Last year’s MVP and 3AA region High Point winner, Ms. Jordan has participated in the 200 and 400 meter dash, the High Jump, and both relay events.  “I am delighted to have someone from Swainsboro as part of our program here.  Deidra will make a great contribution to our program” stated Coach Cooper.

Ms Jordan plans to major in Biology and get her master’s degree in Forensic Science.  Once she finishes here for this upcoming season at SHS as a Lady Tiger, we will be looking forward to hearing about her success with the Lady Wildcats on the collegiate level.  Deidra is the daughter of proud parents Darlene and Leroy Jordan.
