Swainsboro High School spring sports debuts are just around the corner. This year the weather has not cooperated much for outdoor practice. Swainsboro Tennis coach has mixed things up a bit this past week with practice. The boys and girls tennis teams have been working hard indoors on drills. A lot of excitement builds around this year’s teams. Both teams return most of the members from last season. With a new head coach and strong season finishes, expectations are high. Swainsboro will open with a home match hosting the Toombs County Bulldogs at Harmon Park Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. This is a non region game. Swainsboro will travel to Southeast Bulloch Thursday, Feb.25 for the first region match with the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets. Region 3AA is split in two groups. Swainsboro will play in 3A-AA along with Southeast Bulloch, Screven County, Jefferson County and Laney. 3B-AA will consist of teams Vidalia, Toombs County, East Laurens, Dublin, Dodge County and Bleckley County. The Swainsboro Tiger Athletic website, www.swainsborotigerathletics.com, will have more photographs and information regarding all spring sports at SHS.
