Tennis Season opens at Swainsboro High

On February 23 Tiger Tennis hosted Toombs County for the opening match of the 2010 season. The Lady Tigers defeated Toombs County by a score of 5-0. The Lady Tigers won all singles and doubles matches en route to a 5-0 sweep of the Lady Dogs. The Tigers defeated Toombs County 3-2.
Thursday, Feb. 25 the tennis teams battled cold windy conditions at Southeast Bulloch. The Tigers came away with a 3-2 Region win. The Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season. The Lady Tigers fell to the Southeast Bulloch Lady Jackets by a match final of 2-3. Tennis action took a week off before going to Vidalia Wednesday March 10. Tiger Tennis split the two matches with Non-Region opponent Vidalia. The Lady Tigers defeated Vidalia 3-2 improving their record to 2-1 on the season. The Tiger Boys fell at Vidalia 1-4. The Tiger Boys team record is now 2-1.
Swainsboro was scheduled to face Southeast Bulloch again Thursday for a Region Contest. The Tennis Match was called due to inclement weather. Swainsboro traveled to Jefferson County Tuesday March 16 for a Region Match. Results were not available at press deadline.
