State Farm sponsors a video contest each year during football season called†Friday Night Featsâ€. This year the Swainsboro Tigers were selected as a finalist in the contest. There were over 300 videos submitted in the contest from schools across the United States and Canada. Swainsboro was selected as one of the top 51 videos in the contest. Local State Farm agents Melissa Tapley and Margo Riner presented SHS with the winning prize at a home basketball game. Swainsboro High School was rewarded $2,500 for being a finalist. “It is an honor and a privilege to present this award to a local institution†commented Margo Riner of State Farm. “We hope to be back next season rewarding Swainsboro High School again†stated Mrs. Riner. Athletic Director, Scott Roberts, added “This type of recognition is wonderful for Swainsboro High School and our student-athletes that sacrifice their time and energy to make this athletic department great. This could not be possible without the hard work of our kids and the staff. Thank you to all of our supporters for the encouragement in this contest and our athletic program.†If Tiger fans wish to see more on the athletic program at Swainsboro High School visit www.swainsborotigerathletics.com.
