Lady Tigers continue to roll

The Lady Tigers Fast Pitch Softball Team is off to a great start in Region 3AA. The Lady Tigers are responding well to first year head coach Jordyn Nail. In Region action SHS has compiled a record of 6-1 scoring 57 runs and only allowing 12. In the pitching department the Tigers are led by Sybrena Rogers. Sybrena, a senior, continues to throw the opposition more than they can handle across the plate with an ERA of .98. Leading the bats for the Tigers are Junior Brinsley Screws and Sophomore Lucy Collins with batting averages of .500.

Monday, Sept. 21, Swainsboro traveled to Toombs Co. where the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. “We are very proud of our girls and their efforts to battle this region” stated assistant coach Jerry Lawson Jr. Tuesday the Tigers are looking to revenge the one loss from Screven County when the lady Gamecocks travel to Tiger Field, September 22. Screven County is 7-0 in Region 3AA. Score was not available by press deadline.

Thursday, Sept. 24, the Lady Tigers will be back in action at home against the Jefferson County Warriors with a game time of 5 p.m. In the first meeting the Tigers defeated the Warriors by a score of 13-1.
