SHS Tiger Athletic Booster club revvying up

The Swainsboro High School Athletic Booster Club announces the executive board for the 2009-2010 term. Members of the board are President, Bill Kennedy, Vice President, Lee Stewart, Treasurer, Milton Gray, and Secretary Laura Moore.
The Swainsboro Athletic Booster Club is already in action for the upcoming term. This year’s goal is to involve more people in what SHS has to offer. “I am very excited about the direction this booster club is headed” stated, Athletic Director, Scott Roberts. Roberts also added “The athletic department is very appreciative of the outpouring support the Swainsboro and surrounding communities have given. With the continued support we can continue on our path for greatness.”
Last term the booster club brought in several new additions to the Athletic programs at SHS. One of which boasts the new 1100 square foot booster sign board that towers near the entrance of Swainsboro High School. The booster billboard is customized to fit each corporate sponsor’s sign or logo. The Swainsboro High School Athletic Booster Club also put on “Tiger Jam” concert for students and families recently. “We want families to get involved and see that we have something for everyone” stated, Lee Stewart, Vice President. The booster club provided monetary support and fed all 16 athletic programs and coaches including the “Band of Gold” last term. At Swainsboro High School money is needed to cover play-off travel needs, refreshments, and award banquets. The booster club helped provide the monetary support for all those needs. The booster club also helped with the costs of the basketball youth camps and the Matthew Anders Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
“We have fun putting on these activities for the students and families” added Bill Kennedy, President. Last year the club hosted a booster club preseason fish fry and tailgated before each home football game.
“Right now the booster club is working on the new football program book and new memberships” added Kennedy.
